The Haroken

“We do not write history. We receive it.”

The Haroken are fanatical worshippers and followers of Grand Vizier Taezyth . This ever-growing group seems to be harmless but treat the words of the Grand Vizier like they are that of a God.

The Haroken can be found just about anywhere in Valecar, but have the strongest hold in Solgrim. They are typically seen in ashen colored garbs and hoods, with a tether or rope tied around their waist.

They are a religious bureaucracy, a living archive, and an ideological army devoted to Grand Vizier Taezyth. To the public, they are scribes, clerics, historians, and ceremonial attendants.

Their central belief:

Taezyth is not a man. He is a conduit of divine correction.

They believe history itself became corrupted after the Monoliths rose — that reality drifted off-course — and that Taezyth alone receives the true narrative of the world.

Their Ultimate Ambition

• Destroy the Monoliths.

• Unite Valecar under spiritual clarity.

• End divine corruption.

Organizational Structure

The Haroken operate in layered circles:

High Scribes

Senior Haroken who directly transcribe Taezyth’s proclamations.

• Never speak Taezyth’s words aloud unless ordered.

• Their hands are ritually scarred to prevent trembling.

• Indoctrinators

Most champions chosen for the Ascendant Calling are subtly vetted by the Attuned first.

Appearance & Aesthetic

Haroken are immediately recognizable once you know what to look for:

Clothing

• Pale ash robes

• Gold thread embroidery forming circular script patterns

• High collars or hooded mantles

• Red or black cord belts

Higher ranks wear scripture-veils: translucent cloth printed with Taezyth’s recorded words.

Physical Markings

Common traits:

• Script tattoos along forearms or jawlines

• Brand-marks behind the ear

• Ink-stained fingers (always the same three digits)

• Shaved or tightly bound hair

Some high-ranking Haroken replace fingernails with gold caps engraved with canonical verses.

Eyes

Long-term Haroken often develop:

• Fixed, unblinking stares

• Light sensitivity

• Gold-dusted sclera (from ritual inks)

• A habit of whispering while writing
