The man approaching you looks important in the way exhausted scholars sometimes do—less regal than necessary, and far too nervous to truly belong among Solgrim’s elite.
Korin Hylor is tall but thin to the point of frailty, dressed in layered cream-and-gold robes that look expensive yet perpetually wrinkled. His dark brown hair is streaked prematurely gray and combed back with meticulous effort, though several loose strands constantly fall back into place across his face.
Round silver spectacles sit low upon his nose, forcing him to tilt his head upward whenever making eye contact. His fingers twitch constantly—tapping against his leg, adjusting his sleeves, drumming against the spine of the thick leather-bound journal tucked tightly beneath one arm.
Its cover is blackened leather reinforced with gold corners, worn smooth by anxious handling. Strange ribbon markers spill from between its pages in uneven bundles.
Korin smells faintly of old parchment, incense ash, and stress.
When he speaks, his words come quickly—too quickly—as though terrified someone else might interrupt him. He smiles often, but rarely at appropriate moments.
And despite his polite demeanor… his eyes constantly scan the room.
