Aurelian Forged Playable Character Race

Commonly referred to as the 'Marbleborn'.

Lore

Aurelyx, the Gilded Warden, sculpted servants from living marble and radiant gold to act as foundations of civilization itself.

These beings were not created as soldiers.

They were created as pillars to uphold civilization itself.

Each Aurelian Forged, or Marbleborn, was carved directly from sanctified stone near leyline convergence points, then awakened with a fragment of Aurelyx’s divine will. They were meant to oversee early cities, teach law, and physically build the first walls of Valecar.

They do not reproduce and do not have gender. However, over the years the shapes and details have leaned more toward human-like features of males and females to make them less statue-like and more relatable.

Each Marbleborn is individually created — though none have been made in centuries. Aurelian Forged are typically made of living white marble and have glowing yellow eyes.

Many were destroyed during The Shattering - 333 AC. Others fell dormant. A rare few wander the world, detached from Aurelyx’s direct guidance, struggling to define identity beyond duty.

Aurelian Forged Traits

(Playable Race created by Kris (DM) to be compatible with the D&D 5e 2014 Ruleset)

Ability Score Modifiers

Your Strength score increases by 2.
Your Constitution score increases by 1.
Your Intelligence score decreases by 2.

Age

Marbleborn do not age naturally. They can persist for thousands of years unless destroyed, or succumb to the notorious Marbleborn disease, Stonebound Fever. Most adventuring Marbleborn are between 100–800 years old.

Alignment

Marbleborn tend toward Lawful alignments, but centuries away from Aurelyx have produced Neutral and even Chaotic individuals.

Size

Marbleborn are massive humanoids, typically standing between 7 and 8 feet tall and weighing 400–700 pounds.

Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

(Heavy, deliberate movement.)

Mannerisms

Marbleborn are generally quiet and do not speak unless spoken to due to their obedient nature. When they do speak, their voice sound hollow, almost echoing coming from deep within them as if you were to speak into a large cavern. They are stoic in expression, even under duress. They will typically walk or move with purpose, bee-lining toward their destination. If they are required to detour as a result of an obstacle, their pathway would be very angular and jagged.

As with all beings, there are outliers that do not align with the stereotypical mannerisms of a species. One example would be: There are rumors of bold and brash Marbleborn who have been molded and shaped by mercenary groups and thieves guilds...no one would suspect a giant statue-like being, initially designed to uphold the law and civilization itself, to rob them.

Living Marble

Your body is carved from enchanted marble veined with divine gold.
